Alexandria Film Festival

From November 8th through November 11th, the Alexandria Film Festival will celebrate some of the finest independent filmmaking from all around the world for its 12th annual edition.

Mount Vernon by Candlelight

Step back in time with a candlelit tour of George Washington’s world-famous plantation estate. The annual Mount Vernon by Candlelight tours launch the day after Thanksgiving and after that take place on November 24th and 30th and December 1st, 7th, 8th, and 16th.

Catch a Show at the Birchmere Music Hall

Alexandria plays host to a truly legendary music venue in the Birchmere, which has hosted everybody from Johnny Cash to Emmylou Harris for amazingly intimate concerts. The day after Thanksgiving, the Seldom Scene and Dry Branch will bring some expertly played Americana to the stage. Charles Esten holds court on Saturday, November 24th and Sunday, November 25th, while Melissa Etheridge swings by the Birchmere with her Holiday Show from Monday, November 26th through Wednesday, November 28th. 

Productions at the Little Theatre of Alexandria

The highly regarded Little Theatre of Alexandria also has plenty of onstage entertainment on tap around Thanksgiving, with Dracula wrapping up on November 3rd and A Christmas Carol beginning on November 30th.
