History, The Alexandrian, Washington DC
History, The Alexandrian, Washington DC

Visiting Old Town Alexandria is like stepping back in time. Cobblestone streets and beautifully-maintained historic buildings have preserved a charm that is impossible to replicate. Alexandria boasts 270 years of American history steps outside our hotel’s door. From our founding fathers to the bustling city it is today, Old Town Alexandria is rich with history ready to be explored.

Historic figures such as George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Robert E. Lee have all roamed our streets. The city got its name after it was built on the family homestead of John and Philip Alexander in 1749. The Alexandrian hotel was named to represent the beautiful city where it is located in the heart of Old Town on bustling King Street. We strive to emulate history in all aspects of our guest’s experience while also adding a modern twist with a clever, contemporary attitude.
